“When I climbed a 6,000m mountain for the first time in 2018, I was overwhelmed by the feeling of accomplishing something like that. I’m not a mountaineer, nor an extreme athlete and yet I did it. I would like to show other women that they, too, can go beyond and achieve more than they may think they can.” Daniela Luschin-Wangail
Group trip: Women’s trip: My first 6.000er
Price: 1.990 EUR
Date: 18. July-03. August 2020
The ascent of a 6,000er does not technically have to be difficult. In Ladakh, there are several 6,000m mountains, which can be overcome by sporty mountain friends, who just need to bring ambition You need stamina and some fitness that you should acquire in advance.
After a good familiarization program in advance, with visits to the most beautiful cultural highlights and preparatory hikes, we will head out to the nomadic country in southeastern Ladakh on the border with Tibet and the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. There we go up to the Dome Peak (6.050m), which is usually completely snow-free in summer. The ascent is difficult because we have to walk over boulder fields for long stretches, but with walking sticks and at a slow pace this is easy to do.
On this trip you will be accompanied by Daniela Luschin-Wangail (tour operator, ethnologist and Ladakh expert) and the first Ladakh woman who has completed the entire mountain guide training of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, and has already climbed many 6,000m mountains, Tenzin Angmo.
